While Mitragyna javanica has a somewhat similar appearance to Mitragyna speciosa (Kratom), there are a number of differences in their chemical makeups. The alkaloids from which the products are derived do not includes mitragynine and 7-hydroxymitragynine, however, but the similar compounds mitrajavine and large amounts of 3-isoajmalicine.
